A novel lightweight authentication and privacy-preserving protocol for vehicular ad hoc networks

Abstract Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is commonly employed in intelligent transportation system (ITS) that allows the exchange of traffic data among vehicles and nearby environment to accomplish effective driving experience. Privacy security are challenging issues exist safety needs VANET. Any particular leakage vehicle details such as route might result serious impacts, therefore, authentication privacy-preserving protocols needed enhance With this motivation, paper presents a new lightweight protocol using improved timed efficient stream loss-tolerant with cuckoo filter (ITESLA-CF) for VANETs. The proposed model encompasses different stages operations initialization, registration, mutual authentication, broadcast verification, revocation phases. In addition, ITESLA-CF technique has TESLA minimal memory requirement. Besides, includes save authentic information RSU’s range. parties it offers robust anonymity privacy resists ordinary attacks. To ensure better performance technique, an extensive set simulations take place results assessed terms measures. resultant experimental values pointed out supremacy over recent state art methods.
